Our Mission

With all this wealth, history and prosperity in D.C., we have an opportunity to end poverty here and beyond.
We seek to connect all the prosperity and beautiful things in D.C. to D.C. and the world around.

Our strategy is what we call #Familyhood.

#Familyhood defines the schools in every community as the center for community development and attempts to connect the generations connected to our schools to become the communities center for development.

Since most students attend schools close to where they live, #Familyhood creates food related social enterprises within the community to strengthen the generation gap within the community as a mechanism to increase sustainability from within the community.

Familyhood is driven by two main motto’s: Friends of School Motto- which states: 1) “every school shall have a Student Government Association, Parent Teacher Association and Alumni Associations and Mo’ Better Food, which states “every school shall have a garden, a farmers market and a grocery store.”

#1stSaturdays, the official monthly volunteer day at schools sites is the “do now” strategy to advance communities towards #Familyhood.

We are seeking companies to join our efforts of sharing what we do once a month at 1stSaturdays.
